Today we would like to proudly present you Aquatic Kingdoms: Atlantis and Helike – amazing and unique decks of playing cards. Inspired by the oceans and everything that has connected and attracted people and the sea for centuries and by civilizations and underwater realms from ancient times that were long forgotten, or has never existed but still live in myths and legends.

The card designs focus on conveying the mystery and richness of marine life through graphics using themes based on myths and stories referring to the inhabitants of the underwater world. All this has been captured in a variety of explicit but non-literal ways.

We are very happy to present you the third series of playing card decks and very much hope that you will decide to follow us to explore the mysteries of the seas and creatures that dwell there.

Aquatic Kingdoms are two unique decks of playing cards. Each of them contains characteristic, unique graphics depicting peculiar and unique inhabitants of the underwater realms. No detail is accidental, and each element fills its place in harmony.

Combining what is certain with what is elusive and unexplored, we have created two color-differentiated graphic frames. „Atlantis”, sunk by angry gods and lost in the depths of the ocean, received a dark palette of colors reflecting its mythical character. In turn, „Helike” – the capital of the Achaean League, considered the „true” Atlantis, destroyed in one night as a result of a terrible natural disaster, received more bright and transparent colors referring to its real and documented history.

The carefully designed box for both decks has been decorated with motifs associated with the enormity of the mystery that the depths of the seas and oceans can hide. We have made every effort to accurately reflect the impression and emotions accompanying a man in combination with great power, mystery, and beauty, but also the threat that the ocean can pose.

In the center, there is an octopus, whose image we considered to be the embodiment of the atmosphere, and the theme of our decks. Is it a threat? Does it have something to tell us? The answer may be closer than you think…

We made an attempt to match our design with the complexity and organic character of the marine creatures and the myths they relate to.

Aces were designed to feature the very essence oceanic environment. Motives resembling creatures, waves, and currents were applied to achieve the final effect.

Numeric cards for both decks have been designed to match the overall project’s aquatic character.

The courts’ cards feature the ruling class of the underwater world. What kind of conspiracies may they plot in their domains?

We’ve prepared a rich collection of add-ons that will go along with both Atlantis and Helike decks.

This handcrafted with utmost care holder is intended to keep your cards safe from damage. It’s handy and fits easily in the pocket. There’re two functional ways to reach for the deck itself. It’s also embossed with the Relentless Venture mark.

This artbook is the final piece of the designing process of the Aquatic Kingdoms project. It’s in an A5 format and features various illustrations gathered during the whole endeavor. Some of the art pieces are nowhere else to be found, including those which were rejected in the early days. There is also a story-driven narration, that lets us dive deeper into the Aquatic Kingdoms atmosphere.

The Secret Note is added to some specific reward sets. It contains clues that allow solving a puzzle that gives access to some unique digital content. It may also allow you to acquire a special item in our future projects.

This poster will be printed in B2 format (480 x 680 mm), on 250g chalk paper covered with a gloss foil finish. It features the visage of the queen of hearts.

Very limited uncut printouts of the prototypes that were created while designing Aquatic Kingdoms. They are signed by the creator. These items are only available in the Collector’s Set. 

It is possible to acquire an uncut sheet of both decks. Use a dedicated Addon item to do so. These will be available only while the Kickstarter project lasts. Depending on the final outcome, it may appear as a single (Atlantis & Helike decks on the same sheet) or 2-sheets (both decks separated).

The implementation of our previous projects gave us an invaluable experience that we intend to use with The Aquatic Kingdoms.
