Start Edge of Chaos Kickstarter fund campaign

Greetings!

We are very glad to see you once more. This is our fourth Kickstarter playing cards project and yet this time, we hope to surprise you with a unique approach once more. Today we proudly introduce our newest piece – The Edge of Chaos: two decks of cards teetering on the brink of two opposing powers.

Opposing forces: Harmony & Discord

This time we decided to base our work on a concept of contrast. The first deck – Discord is more grim and chaotic. Its dominating colors are red and black. Dragons – that were made the theme of this project – depicted in this set are more ominous and dangerous-looking. 

On the other hand, the Harmony set is more subtle, dominated by colors white and gray. The Harmony dragons are more gentle and calm.

Four Faces of Chaos

Another novelty will be the way we pack our cards. This time we are planning to differ the tuck boxes between “Standard” – which are going to look just like our traditional tuck boxes known from previous Relentless Venture projects – and “Deluxe”, containing cards with colored edges, are going to be packed in boxes finished with openwork and a decorative stone. 

There are no reprints planned and the volume depends on the scale of the Kickstarter campaign success. Each tuck box will get its unique number and will be sealed with it.

Chaos Contained

Regardless of the edition, the double boxes are going to be richly ornamented in the theme of the dragons, finished with shiny, and soft-touch foil. 

Lords of Harmony and Discord

As always we create all of our illustrations from scratch. We try to do our best to portray every character depicted on our cards as convincingly as possible, so the decks are different not only by the color palette but also by the details of the illustration. 

Each one of the card figures is accompanied by a dragon with a special bond that defines their unique character. Dragons are treated as if they were some kind of spiritual guide to every figure.

Rulers of the Edge of Chaos

As we made dragons the main theme of this project, we used them as aces. Every one of them is special and differs by details according to its discordial, or harmonic nature.

Order and Disarray

Numeric cards are richly ornamented and consistent with the character of each deck. They relate to traditional colors with a hint of innovation.

Limited prototypes

Very limited (only 20!) uncut printouts of the prototypes were created while designing Edge of Chaos. They are signed by the designer. These items are only available through the Add-Ons section and are super rare.

Uncut sheets

It is possible to acquire an uncut sheet of both decks. Use a dedicated add-on item to do so. These will be available only while the Kickstarter project lasts. Depending on the final outcome, it may appear as a single (Harmony & Discord decks on the same sheet) or 2-sheets (both decks separated).

Secret Note

The Secret Note is added only to the Master Collection and Master Collection early bird set. It contains clues that allow solving a puzzle that gives access to some unique digital content. It may also allow you to acquire a special item in our future projects.

Stickers

In addition to the cards, we have also prepared stickers. There are a total of five patterns. One is kept in the general style of the project, and the remaining four correspond to the card suits.

Bookmarks

We have also made unique bookmarks kept in the style of our cards. There are a total of four patterns. They include Harmony King and Queen of one color on one side, and the same pair on the reverse but in Discord theme. The bookmarks will be printed on 350-gram coated paper, with a matte finish and UV-varnished details.

Button pins

We have also prepared three patterns of pins with our card figures – jack, queen, and king. 

Metal pin with an image of a dragon

We are also going to craft a unique, metal pin with an image of a dragon. This pin has a magnetic clasp and is additionally attached to a card specially designed for this purpose.

Text game book of the “Edge of Chaos”

Each of our projects has its own unique history to tell. For those who want to dive into the story of the “Edge of Chaos”, we have written a paragraph game set in the medieval-fantasy world of everlasting conflict between two great powers that are the theme of this project. You will be able to set out on a crucial mission on whose success the fate of humanity depends. It has been printed on 100 pages of A6 format paper and has multiple endings. Your decisions may change the world forever.

This handcrafted with utmost care holder is intended to keep your cards safe from damage. It’s handy and fits easily in the pocket. There are two functional ways to reach for the deck itself. It’s also embossed with the Relentless Venture mark.

Fulfillment

The implementation of our previous projects gave us an invaluable experience that we intend to use with The Edge of Chaos.
